Shop & Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions of Service

Customer Agreement

By requesting, authorizing, or accepting any service performed by Canadian Auto / NAPA AutoCare and Canadian Auto Remarketing (CAR) Ltd. (“Canadian Auto”), the Customer agrees to the following terms and conditions.


1. Wheel Retorque Requirement

  • Customers must return after 100–150 km for a complimentary wheel retorque.
  • No appointment required.
  • Failure to comply releases Canadian Auto from liability related to wheel loosening or failure.

2. Pre-Existing Damage

Canadian Auto is not responsible for pre-existing issues including:

  • Damaged studs, lug nuts, or rims
  • Corrosion, cross-threading, or prior over-torquing

Breakage during service due to these conditions is not the responsibility of Canadian Auto.


3. Rust & Seized Components

Parts that are rusted, seized, or weakened may break during service.

  • Reasonable care will be used
  • Customer accepts that such breakage is sometimes unavoidable

4. Parts Refusal

Canadian Auto reserves the right to refuse installation of any parts deemed:

  • Unsafe
  • Defective
  • Incompatible

5. Additional Repairs Authorization

  • Approval will be requested for costs exceeding $100 over estimate
  • If unreachable, work may proceed to ensure safety or prevent further damage

6. Diagnostic & Teardown Charges

  • Diagnostic and inspection time is billable regardless of repair outcome
  • Teardown authorization does not guarantee repair feasibility

7. Replaced Parts

  • Must be requested at pickup
  • Otherwise disposed of immediately
  • Hazardous materials and cores cannot be returned

8. Warranty

In-House Warranty

  • 30 days or 3,000 km
  • Covers workmanship only
  • Vehicle must be returned for inspection

NAPA Nationwide Warranty

  • 12 months / 20,000 km
  • Valid across Canada & USA

Exclusions:

  • Customer-supplied or used parts
  • Commercial vehicles over 1.5 tons
  • Internal engine/transmission repairs

No refunds after vehicle release.


9. Warranty Void

Warranty is void if:

  • Repairs are performed by another party before inspection

10. Limitation of Liability

Canadian Auto is not responsible for:

  • Fire, theft, vandalism, or events beyond control
  • Personal items left in vehicle
  • Pre-existing condition related damage

No liability for indirect or consequential damages.


11. Repair Authorization

Customer authorizes Canadian Auto to:

  • Perform repairs
  • Install parts
  • Operate vehicle for testing

12. No Guarantee of Outcome

Repairs are not guaranteed to resolve all vehicle issues.


13. Estimates

  • Estimates are approximate
  • Final cost may vary
  • Garage Keeper’s Lien applies until paid in full

14. Tire & Wheel Policy

  • Retorque required
  • No liability for prior improper installation or corrosion

15. Payment Terms

  • Full payment required before release
  • 2% monthly interest on overdue accounts
  • Canadian Auto may:
    • Retain vehicle
    • Send to collections
    • Take legal action

All recovery costs are payable by the customer.


16. Storage Fees

  • $70/day + GST after completion or delay in pickup

17. Shop Supplies

A standard fee applies for consumables and materials.


18. Abandoned Vehicles

Vehicles left beyond a reasonable period may be considered abandoned and handled according to applicable laws.


19. Customer Acknowledgment

Customer confirms:

  • Authorization to approve repairs
  • Responsibility for all charges
  • Acceptance of all terms

Privacy Summary

  • Information collected for service, billing, and communication
  • Not sold to third parties
  • Protected under Alberta PIPA

6. Credit and Financing Disclosure (Industry Standard)

Where you apply for financing or credit:
